La Rotisserie at the Mamaison is a lovely, bright restaurant, with sparkling wineglasses and pristine white tablecloths.    The place was completely quiet with no other diners as we were having a really late lunch at 3pm thus the service was impeccable.  My colleague A and I both selected identical set lunch menues consisting of 3 courses:

Beef Tartare with marinated peppers

Black Cod with cream sauce infused with parsley

Chocolate Parfait with Raspberry sorbet

The presentation was refined and suited to fine dining standards,  food itself was good but not spectacular –  lacked the finess of a venue proclaiming itself to be “fine” – the fish sauce was somewhat under-seasoned, the fish itself seemed a little soggy.  Beef similarly needed a more thought-out dressing.  Chocolate parfait for me needed to be more “set” but the raspberry sorbet was so flavorful and wonderful, as were the crystalized violet sugar crumbs on the plate.  Overall, despite several snags, a satisfying and enjoyable lunch in elegant surroundings.
